I thought the first 75% of this book was sensational and then it lost steam (literally) and started a downward spiral that it never recovered fromAriadne and Rupert were great together - I loved them. Together they were HOT! The love scenes were steamy and well written (just remembering the picnic scene makes me need to fan myself).
Feelings were progressing and Rupert plays the hero and recuses Ariadne from an unwanted suitor and then the story starts to go south faster than geese in October !
This is were my rant starts - this might be Spoilerish - so don't read any further if you don't want to know!!!!!

I was so disappointed with the ending of this book - I was shaking my head for the final two chapters - mentally shouting "Really - are you kidding me?!?" I don't know which one was the bigger idiot Ariadne or Rupert. I mean if Emma hadn't written to him and tricked him, would these two have ended up
together - probably not! That is not how I expected the book to end.
And I do mean end - no epilogue (automatic loss of 1/2 star!) I wanted to see these two happily ever after. Through this book I got to see Emma and Nick and their growing family, I got to see Mercedes and Duncan and their growing family I even got to see Sigrid had children - but Ariadne and Rupert - NOTHING! We don't even get to see them get married!!
I didn't hate the book, but I think it could have ending better and an epilogue would have gone a long way to making the ending more acceptable. Of the three books, I would have to say this was my least favorite. Tracy Anne Warren is a gifted writer and I will read any historical romance she publishes - in fact I am looking forward to the Bedding Proposal that was previewed at the end of this book.

The Trouble with Princesses A Princess Brides Romance Tracy Anne Warren 9780451239716 Books Reviews
I read the book in a couple of days, it was action packed and as always it takes a life time for men to say I love you. I love the adventure and that is did not take the whole book for Rupert to catch up with Selkirk. I love a book when I can't put it down. I am a Tracy Ann Warren follower of historical romance novels.
Of all the books in this series, this one tops them all. Ariadne is a lively firecracker and a great narrator for this story. Her story was not only very sexy, but well put together and thought out. I was able to identify with her more than any of the other two princesses in the series and it made for an enjoyable read. 10/10 would recommend
awesome
I loved this last story of the triology, but only gave it 4 stars because the second one was my favorite.
Though I read this book out of order it was not necessary to read the previous two to enjoy the love affair between Rupert and Ariade. Having seen both her friends marry and both find a love match Ariade is not assured she will be as lucky. Ariade has always voiced her opinion about marriage. Not wanting to give up her freedom she would rather take a lover despite what is expected of her from the ton. Not wanting to see his sisters friend make a fatal mistake Rupert steps in as the role of her lover. However neither is prepared for the sparks that fly once they begin. A great romance, a stubborn princess and a future king that is brought to his knees finally for love.
You find yourself rooting for the Princess right away, as she has lost her family, but still has a lot of pluck. Tracy Anne Warren does not make us wait long before the Prince and Princess are sharing moments and the story takes us along for their 'adventures' to see how it will all work out.
In this story are characters that also have their own stories and books (it's part of a series), but it is a good stand-alone read, too. There are many racy sex scenes described, so it's not for all-ages of readers. I prefer to read period romance novels, and have read many. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and thought it moved at a good pace to keep the reader interested.
This book did not impress me as the two former books of this trilogy "The Princess and the Peer" and "Her Highness and the Highlander." Truly the first one was the best. I lost interest in this one half-way through. The true problem for me was the characters. Rupert seemed to pompus and Aridne I just couldn't bring myself to care. Romance novels by genre are meant to be mushy and gushy with just the right amount of drama thrown in but to hold my attention I need less love scenes and more plot. The plot gets lost in a load of uneeded garbage.
